PS/2 mouse/
keyboard port
Use this port to connect an external PS/2
compatible mouse or keyboard. The computer
automatically recognizes which device you have
connected when you turn on the power.
External monitor port This 15-pin port, protected by a plastic cover, lets
you connect an external video display.
Serial port
Use this 9-pin port to connect external serial
devices such as an external modem, a serial
mouse or printer.
Docking interface
This port enables connection of an optional
NetDock Port Replicator described in the Options
section of Chapter 1,
Keep foreign objects out of the docking interface port. A pin or similar
object can damage the computer’s circuitry. A plastic shutter protects the
connector. Be sure to attach it whenever a device is not connected.

DC IN
Attach the AC adaptor to the DC IN socket and plug
the adaptor’s power cord into any wall outlet.
Parallel port
This Centronics-compatible, 25-pin parallel port
is used to connect a parallel printer or other
parallel device. This port supports Extended
Capabilities Port (ECP) standard.
