Installing an Optional Management
Module
This chapter describes the features and functions of the PowerBlade
Optional Management Module. This chapter also provides the
procedure for:

Overview
The AT-PBM02 is an optional management module for the PowerBlade
PBC18. When installed, the management module allows you to monitor
the operating status of the media converters and switches installed the
chassis. The management module is not required for normal network
operations, but it is necessary if you want to locally or remotely monitor
and configure the modules installed in the chassis and the ports on the
modules.
The management module features a RS-232 terminal port with a DB9
connector. The terminal port is used for local management. The
AT-PBM02 also features a 10Base-T twisted pair port with an RJ-45
connector. The twisted pair port is used for remote management. The
RJ-45 has a maximum operating distance of 100 meters (328 feet) and
supports 10 Mbps half-duplex operation.
