Media Converter or Switch Module
If the PR LED on the module is OFF, do the following:
❑ Check that the module is securely seated in the chassis.
❑ Check that the chassis is receiving power.
❑ Try installing the module in another expansion slot.
If a LK LED on the module is OFF, do the following:
❑ Check that the end-node connected to the port is ON.
❑ Check to be sure that the cable is securely connected to the ports
on the module and on the end-node.
❑ Check to be sure that the appropriate type of cable for the port is
being used.
❑ For the fiber optic port, check that the maximum allowable loss
budget has not been exceeded.
If the LK LED is green but there is a communication problem between
the end-nodes connected to the module (and you are not running a link
test), check the following:
❑ For a media converter module, check to be sure that the end-
nodes connected to the ports are operating at the same speed
and at a speed appropriate for the PowerBlade model.
❑ For a media converter module, check that the end-nodes are
operating in the same duplex mode.
❑ For a media converter module, check that the Link
Test/MissingLink button is in the M/L ON (IN) position.
❑ Check that the maximum allowable loss budget for the fiber optic
cable has not been exceeded.
❑ For a switch module, check to be sure that the DIP switches are set
correctly.
