Installing a Media Converter
This section explains how to install a PowerBlade Media Converter
module in the chassis. It is not necessary to power OFF the chassis to
install a module.
To install a media converter module in the chassis, perform the following
procedure:
1.
Remove a blank faceplate from the chassis’ front panel by loosening
the thumbscrew. A media converter module can be installed in any
expansion slot. See Figure 29.
Figure 29 Removing a Blank Faceplate
Note
Do not remove a blank faceplate covering an expansion slot unless
you intend to install a PowerBlade module.
2.
Remove the module from the shipping package and store the
packaging material in a safe location.
Caution
Wear a grounding device and observe electrostatic discharge
precautions when installing the PowerBlade module in the chassis.
Failure to observe this caution could result in damage to the
PowerBlade module.
3.
For an AT-PB15 module, check the setting of the J5 jumper. If your
chassis does not contain an AT-PBM02 management module, set
the jumper to the Enabled (RIGHT) position. The default setting is
Disabled (LEFT) indicating the management module is installed.
Refer to Figure 23 on page 54 for the location of the jumper.
