5.12. NETWORK PARAMETERS CONFIGURATION
The Network Name: is a unique identifier of the instrument as it appears on the
Network to which it connects.
– Configure the
NETWORK TYPE:
as a Static or Fixed IP, and either DHCP
or Dynamic IP Addresses.
– The
IP ADDRESS:
and
SUBNET MASK:
are unique address values
designed to function within the Network for which it is configured.
– IP Address is an identifier for a computer or device on a TCP/IP Network.
Networks using the TCP/IP Protocol route messages based on the IP Address
of the destination.
A
SUBNET MASK
is a local division of a Local Area Network (LAN), which is
created to improve performance and provide Network security.
1. Open the
CONFIGURATION
MENU
.
2. Press the PAGE FORWARD button
twice.
3. Select the
NETWORK
PARAMETERS
option.
4. Click the
NETWORK TYPES
button.
5. Select either
STATIC IP
or
DHCP
.
– If cable is connected upon initial Power
Up and Configuration, the Network type
selection will default to
DHCP
.
– If there is no cable, then the Network
type will default to
STATIC
.
