Terms Meaning
Overheats.......................................................... Detect air temperature that has exceeded a preset limit.
Overlap.............................................................. Lap. Each part extends over previous part, usually bolted together
with common bolts.
Pipe sealing compound......................................Also called heavy-duty thread sealing compound, or pipe dope.
Plenum...............................................................Hot, dry air chamber above burner in dryer.
Plumb.................................................................Straight down, vertical.
R.H.................................................................... Right hand.
RTD................................................................... Resistance Temperature Device. RTD measures temperature
of grain/air.
Wall sheets........................................................ Dryer walls (inside and outside) are build with rings of wall sheets.
Also called screens. Sizes are 0.063 perforated sheet and
0.078 perforated sheet.
