Page

The Calibration Page optioin, available through the Special Pages

submenu in the Administration menu, allows you to print an image

calibration page to use for evaluating print job quality. The main bene-

fit of the calibration page is its usefulness in isolating problems that

affect print quality.
To evaluate print quality, print a calibration page from your printer by

using the Special Pages submenu. See the Special Pages Submenu

section of chapter 2, “Printer Configuration.” Then review the calibra-

tion page using the following description:
Diagonal Line

The diagonal line across the top of the calibration page shows the

quality of the diagonal line. At 600 dpi the line is less jagged than

at 300 dpi.

Halftone Bar (Black to White)

The vertical bar on the left side of the calibration page shows the

appearance of the current gamma correction value halftones. The

halftone bar illustrates the gray levels from black to white.

Halftone Bar (White to Black)

The vertical bar on the right side of the calibration page shows

the appearance of the current gamma correction value halftones.

The halftone bar illustrates the gray levels from white to black.

Printer Resolution

This parameter identifies the printer resolution in dots per inch.

The more dots per inch, the finer the resolution and the more per-

fect the elements look to the eye.

Screen Frequency

This parameter identifies the number of screen lines.
