A SSEMBLING B OOM- S ECTION 2
Note! Reference Diagram of Boom-Section 2 on page 9.21
Stage 1
Thoroughly clean the boom-section 2 weldment.
Grease inside bearing paths.
Lift and position boom-sections 4 & 3 in front of boom-section 2.
Attach the chain clevis to the top rear of boom-section 3.
Insert boom-sections 4 & 3 into boom-section 2.
Stage 2
Bolt the chain adjustment block to the bottom of the boom.
Torque the chain adjustment block bolts to 340-365 ft-lb.
Install top front bearing pads.
Note! Do not torque the bolts yet!
Install bottom front bearing pad supports.
Note! Do not torque the bolts yet!
Install bottom front bearing pads.
Note! Do not torque the bolts yet!
Install the front side bearing pads.
Torque all front bearing pads and supports.
Stage 3
Adjust top and side bearing pads with shims of the rear of boom-section 3.
Torque per specifications (68-78 ft-lb.)
Lay out the 1" chain on the bottom of boom-section 2. Lubricate per standard
Gradall recommendations.
Install the bottom rear bearing pads.
Note! Do not torque the bolts yet!
Install the top rear bearing pads.
Note! Do not torque the bolts yet!
