The crowd cylinder is mounted under the boom assembly. It is fastened to boom-section 1

at its base, with the rod end fastened to boom-section 2.

Preparation

Position the handler in a safe, level, open area well away from personnel and

equipment. Apply the park brake, shift the forward/reverse lever to “Neutral”

and turn the rear wheels straight forward.

Refract the boom fully in a level position.

Turn off the ignition, remove the keys and chock the wheels.

Tag hoses to be separated as an aid for reinstallation.

Install correct lifting tackle to the cylinder barrel.

Take the weight off the cylinder.

Removal

Separate, cop and plug all cylinder hoses.

Remove the crowd cylinder pin and snap ring at the cylinder base.

See Figure above

Ensure that the lifting tackle is holding the cylinder in a balanced position.

Otherwise, correct as needed.

Remove the crowd cylinder pin and support of the rod end (boom-section 2) of

the crowd cylinder.

Lower the crowd cylinder free of the boom and place it in a designated work area.
