EINSTALLATION

1" Retract Chain Roller

Preparation

Position the handler in a safe, level, open area well away from personnel and

equipment. Apply the park brake, shift the forward/reverse lever to “Neutral” and

turn the rear wheels straight forward.

Retract booms fully, then extend 1".

Turn off the ignition, remove the keys and chock all wheels.

Removal

Fasten lifting tackle to the crowd cylinder, take the weight, remove the pin

from the rod eye end and lower the cylinder for access to the retract chains.

Remove the jam nut from the chain clevis at boom-section 1 chain adjusting block.

Back off the adjusting nut on the chain clevis fully without removing it.

At the rear of boom, pull the chain so that the slack is at the rear.

Remove the chain from the back clevis.

Remove the roller.

Reinstallation Hook-Up

Install the roller.

Install the chain on the back clevis.

At the front of the boom, pull the slack from the chain.

Tighten the adjusting nut.

Install and torque the jam nut at the chain clevis.

Readjust the chain per instructions in Section 4.

Note!

The function of the chain rollers is

to control the path of the chain

loop as the booms extend and

retract. The chain contacts the

surface of the outside diameter of

the roller and is held in place by

the roller lips.
