Set Up
Position the handler in a safe, level, open area well away from personnel and
equipment. Apply the park brake, shift the forward/reverse lever to Neutral and
turn the rear wheels straight forward.
Retract the booms fully, horizontal. Stop the engine and chock the wheels.
Tag all hose and electrical connections.

Preparation
Remove the compression spring from the hose take-up weldment at the bottom of
boom-section 1.
Separate and cap/plug hydraulic hoses (and electric options cables) at the rear of
the hydraulic sub-assembly and at the front of boom-section 4.
Remove the cap screws and nuts from the hydraulic sub-assembly bracket at the
front of boom-section 4.
Remove the hydraulic sub-assembly bracket at the rear of boom-section 3. Store in
a safe place for use during reinstallation.

If it is light, remove the guide bracket at the front of the hydraulic sub-assembly.
Removal
Install a sling on the hydraulic sub-assembly at the front of the boom. Slowly pull
it loose from the bottom bracket located on the bottom plate of boom-section 4.

When the sub-assembly is approximately 25% free of the boom, fasten the two
hydraulic carriers together (use plastic tie wraps or nylon straps) to keep them
from separating. Do not wrap the hose carrier since it will not prevent the two
hydraulic carriers from moving apart sideways.
Continue withdrawing the sub-assembly, fastening the hydraulic carriers per Step 2.
When it is approximately 75% out, pull the assembly free of the boom.
