R EINSTALLING THE C ROWD C YLINDER: B OOM S TILL I NSTALLED
Preparation
Position the handler in a safe, level, open area well away from personnel and
equipment. Apply the park broke, shift the forward/reverse lever to “Neutral”
and turn the rear wheels straight forward.
Clean and lubricate all bores and pins. Make sure lube passages are clear.
Attach lifting tackle to the crowd cylinder, making sure it is balanced correctly.
Lift the crowd cylinder into position under the boom assemblies.
Reinstallation
Install all pins and fasteners previously removed.
Reconnect hydraulic hoses previously removed.
Torque all fasteners and hydraulic fittings per Appendix A and Appendix B.
Test
Carefully start the machine, pressurize the crowd cylinder, check for hydraulic
leaks.
Cycle the boom to full extension and retraction at least 10 times to ensure all air is
purged from the circuit.
Return the machine to service
