 For Windows

Users only:
• If your computer is protected by a firewall, and is unable to use Remote Setup, you may have to
configure the firewall settings to allow communication through port numbers 137 and 161.
• If you are using Windows
®
Firewall and you installed the scanner driver from the installation disc,
the necessary Firewall settings have already been made.
 For Macintosh Users only:
• If you change the machine that was registered to your computer during installation of the Full Driver &
Software Package (see the Quick Setup Guide), or if the network environment has changed, you must
specify the new machine. Open the Device Selector and select the new machine. (See Configure
Network Scanning for Macintosh on page 74.)
• If you require more advanced machine management, use the latest version of BRAdmin Professional 3
utility that is available as a download from support.brother.com. See the BRAdmin Professional 3 Help
menu for more information about using BRAdmin Professional 3.
