Remove the Reference diskette, turn off the computer, and
follow the instructions under “Changing the Jumper
Settings” in Chapter 5 to enable the password function by
setting jumper JP13 to position B.

If you do not have a hard disk, insert the Startup diskette in
drive A. Turn on the computer. You see the key prompt
If you enabled network server mode, you do not see
the key prompt. Enter your new password to access the
system. (See “Using the Power-on Password” in Chapter 3 or
“Using a Password in Network Server Mode” in
Chapter 4.)
Note
Be sure to remember your new password or write it down and
keep it in a safe place. If you forget the password you enter
now, you may have to repeat the procedure above the next
time you turn on your computer.
Keyboard Problems
If you are having trouble with the keyboard, check the
following:

If the screen displays one of the following keyboard errors
when you turn on or reset the computer, make sure the
keyboard is securely connected to the computer:
❏ 301 Keyboard error
❏ 303
Keyboard or system unit error
❏ 304
Keyboard or system unit error.
