Chapter 3 System connections and configuration
HotBin service components
The following table describes the components of the HotBin service.
Name
Description
HotBin service (Grass Valley
File-Import Watcher)
A service that will monitor a watched folder, also known as a source
directory, that you specify. Files placed in this watched folder are
automatically imported into the K2 system by the HotBin service
(Grass Valley File-Import Watcher).
K2 Capture Services utility
Configures the HotBin service (Grass Valley File-Import Watcher).
Source directory (HotBin)
The watched folder that you can specify. Files placed in this watched
folder are automatically imported to the K2 system. By default, the
location of the source directory is
V:/IMPORTS
.
Check frequency
Determines how often the source directory is checked for new files.
Cleanup frequency
Determines how long a file remains in the Success sub-directory or in
the Fail sub-directory. A file with a file-creation date older than the
specified number of days is deleted.
Destination bin
The clip bin on the K2 where files from the source directory are
imported into. By default,
V:/IMPORTS
