Description Causes and solutions
Blinking
indicator(s)
• Reconnect the SL-R12D as described in “4-8 Status Display (SL-R12D)” ( ➮ 4-28) in this
instruction manual.
• The SL-R12D is broken and needs to be replaced.
• If the 4-input programmable muting bank function is carried out, there is a problem with the
number of inputs from the muting devices or a problem with the timing of muting device
operation (sequence). Use the proper number of inputs and input methods as described in “2-
5-5 Four-input programmable muting bank function” (
➮ 2-14) and “4-5 Muting function” (➮ 4-
10) in this instruction manual.
• There is a loose or broken muting device wiring connection. Wiring again as described in “4-5
Muting function” ( ➮ 4-10) in this instruction manual” .
• The muting device is broken and needs to be replaced.
• Reconnect the cables for the BBP unit, SL-C transmitter, and SL-C receiver as described in
“4-4 Blanking blind protection function” ( ➮ 4-4) in this instruction manual.
• Reconnect the blanking blind protection unit cable and the SL-R12EX as described in
“4-4 Blanking blind protection function” (
➮ 4-4) in this instruction manual.
• The blanking blind protection unit is broken and needs to be replaced.
• Reconnect the SL-R11 and SL-R12EX as described in “3-4 Connection to the SL-U2 and the
SL-R11 Recommended Dedicated Power Supply” ( ➮ 3-3).
• Either the SL-R11 or the SL-R12EX is broken and needs to be replaced.
The circuit controlling the programmable muting function is broken. Replace the SL-R12EX.
• If the 2-input programmable muting bank function is carried out, there is a problem with the
number of inputs from the muting devices. Use the proper number of inputs and input
methods as described in “2-5-4 Two-input programmable muting bank function” (
➮ 2-12) and
“4-5 Muting function” ( ➮ 4-10) in this instruction manual.
• There is a loose or broken muting device wiring connection. Wiring again as described in
“4-5 Muting function” ( ➮ 4-10) in this instruction manual.
• The muting device is broken and needs to be replaced.
• One or more functions have not been properly set. Configure the function(s) properly as
described in “4 Wiring and setting” ( ➮ 4-1) in this instruction manual.
• The SL-R12EX's internal circuitry is malfunctioning. Replace the SL-R12EX.

• The program switch has been changed from the RUN to the PROG setting while the SL-
R12EX is turned ON. Turn OFF the SL-R12EX when changing the program switch setting.
• One or more functions have not been properly set. Configure the function(s) properly as
described in “Chapter 4 Wiring and setting” ( ➮ 4-1) in this instruction manual.

8 MPCE error
If the MPCE monitor function is carried out, the MPCE is broken, or there is a loose or broken
wiring connection. Replace the MPCE or wiring again as appropriate in accordance with “4-3-3
Wiring to the MPCE Monitor Input Terminal” (
➮ 4-6) in the SL-R11 instruction manual.
• If a muting lamp is used, the muting lamp's bulb has burned out, or there is a loose or broken
muting lamp wiring connection. Wiring again as described in “4-5-2 Muting lamps” ( ➮ 4-12) in
this instruction manual.
• The muting lamp is broken and needs to be replaced.
