4-5-5 Bank switching input devices
(1) Bank switching input
The SL-R12EX is designed so that it requires 2 (double) signal inputs to serve as a single bank
switching input. Therefore, 2 signals of input to the SL-R12EX are necessary for each bank switching
input.
(2) Generating bank switching inputs
Up to three memory banks can be configured. Input the bank switching input signal corresponding to
the memory bank you want to use on the SL-R12EX.
When input 1 turns ON, bank 1 is enabled and the input 1 indicator turns ON.
When input 2 turns ON, bank 2 is enabled and the input 2 indicator turns ON.
When input 3 turns ON, bank 3 is enabled and the input 3 indicator turns ON.
(3) Wiring method
Wiring for the muting devices can be made only while the power to the SL-R12EX turns OFF.
The following requirements must be met when making wiring connections to the SL-R12EX terminal
block.
Tightening torque: 0.4 N•m
Wire rating: AWG # 28 to 14 (Stranded only, Copper only, min. 60° C)
Cable stripping dimension
5mm
(0.2")
Input 1
Input 2
Input 3
Input 3 indicator
Input 2 indicator
Input 1 indicator
Can be wired with power
supply polarity reversed.
24 V DC
Important: Two signals serving as bank switching inputs to the SL-R12EX must be active almost simulta-
neously. The light curtain (SL-C series) goes to the lockout condition if one signal input follows
the other exceeding 200 ms.
