4-5-2 Muting lamps
(1) Requirements for muting lamp
The muting lamp is the indicator showing that the SL-C Series is in a muting state. The following
requirements must be met for the lamps used as muting lamps. The lamps that satisfy these
requirements or SL-R12D must be always used when enabling the muting function.
• Illuminated area must be at least 1 cm
2
.
• Luminance must be at least 200 cd/m
2
.
• Rated voltage must be 24 V DC, and current consumption must be between 15 and 300 mA.
(If 2 or more muting lamps are used, they must be connected in series to the LAMP terminal on the
SL-R12EX. Since this LAMP terminal supplies 24 V DC, if you use N number of muting lamps, use
lamps that have a rated voltage of 24/N.)
• It must be an incandescent lamp.
CAUTION
• When the rating of the muting lamp in use is 24V 2W or 30V 2W, control the
equipment so that the muting lamp off time (time when the muting function is
off) is at least one second long. Failure to do so will cause the SL-C series to
enter lockout condition.
WARNING
• Be sure to use an incandescent lamp as the muting lamp. When using a lamp
other than an incandescent lamp as the muting lamp, SL-R12EX cannot detect
failure on the lamp. If failure occurs on the lamp, the SL-C series will not enter
lockout condition. The lamp does not light up even if SL-C series is in mute
state and the operator is placed at risk. Therefore make sure to not use a lamp
other than incandescent lamp.
