Transient Board
Transient protection boards are recommended on each end of a power supply run when an external DC supply is
used, and on any power supply cables to secondary units where the secondary enclosure runs are longer than 75
feet. To replace a transient protection board (PN 101369) in the iQUBE
2
us the following instructions.
1. Disconnect the power to the iQUBE
2
.
2. Loosen the top screws and remove the cover from the iQUBE
2
.
3. Disconnect all cables attached to the power board/transient protector board.
4. Loosen screws securing the mounting bracket to the enclosure.

5. Loosen the screws to remove the transient protector board from the mounting bracket.
6. Align new transient protection board with the standoffs on the existing mounting bracket and secure with the
existing screws.
The transient protection board can be installed in either direction, the connectors are crossed over to prevent a
connection error.

7. Reinstall the mounting bracket in the enclosure.
8. Connect cables to the power board and transient protector board. See Figure 2-7.
• Connect power cable to the power supply.
• Connect cable from the power supply to the transient protection board (J1).
• Connect cable from the transient protection board (J2) to the CPU board (J6).
