PARAMETER AND VARIABLE DESCRIPTIONS

1557-UM050F-EN-P – June 2013

Ground Fault Current [Gnd flt current]

Linear number:

367

Minimum value:

0.0 A

Maximum value:

10.0 A

Analog Output Scaling: 1.0 V = 1.28 A
This variable is the measured ground fault current from the optional ground fault current transformer. The
ground fault CT is used only for drives without an input isolation transformer, and measures the zero sequence
input current of the drive (not the motor current).

Control Board Temperature [Cntrl board temp]

Linear number:

368

Minimum value:

-40°C

Maximum value:

100°C

Analog Output Scaling: 10.0 V = 62.5°C
This variable is the measured temperature of the drive control boards, which is slightly higher than the ambient
air temperature in the control cubicle. If the measured temperature exceeds 60

C a “Control temp warning” will

be displayed, and if the temperature exceeds 70

C the drive will trip on a “Control temp” fault.

This variable was added in Rev 5.00 and is not present in 4.xx.

25 Fault and Warning Variables

There are eight 16-bit fault words. This allows for a maximum of 128 faults and warnings, but the actual total is
less than this because some bits are not used. Each fault is assigned a class. Class 1 faults cause the drive to
trip immediately. Class 2 faults cause the drive to decelerate to a stop at the normal ramp rate before tripping.
Class 3 faults are merely warnings and cause no action to be taken. There are two variables for class 1 faults
(one for the line converter and one for the machine converter), one variable for class 2 faults, and four
variables for class 3 faults (warnings). The eighth variable is for external faults. Unlike the other faults, the
class of each of the external faults is not predetermined but is specified by 16 fault class parameters in the
External Fault Parameters group.

Fault Flags 1L [Fault flags 1L]
Linear number:

369

Minimum value:

0000 Hex

Maximum value:

FFFF Hex

Analog Output Scaling: N/A
This variable is the line converter class 1 fault flags. It is bit encoded as shown below:

xxx1H - line self test
xxx2H - line parameter checksum
xxx4H - software watchdog
xxx8H - hardware watchdog
xx1xH - software overcurrent
xx2xH - hardware overcurrent
xx4xH - ac overvoltage
xx8xH - dc overvoltage
x1xxH - line phasing (Rev 5.xx) / 12P phasing (Rev 4.xx)
x2xxH

– ground fault

x4xxH - line thyristor open
x8xxH - line thyristor short
1xxxH - ac control power
2xxxH - line unbalance (current if running, voltage if not running)
4xxxH - input contactor open
8xxxH - pulse number
