Connecting Non-Disk SCSI Devices
SCSI tape drives, and CD drives must each have a unique SCSI ID regardless of the
SCSI channel they are attached to. The general rule for Unix systems is:
•
Tape drive set to SCSI ID 2
•
CD drive set to SCSI ID 5
WARNING: Since all non-disk SCSI devices are single ended, it is not
advisable to attach a non-disk device to a RAID Controller Kit-G if LVD disk
drives are also attached. This is because the SCSI bus will then operate in
single-ended mode.
