Capacity Advisor incorporates numerical values of several components in its analysis and modeling,
including:

Licensing requirements
Capacity Advisor is installed when HP Matrix Operating Environment is installed. For specific
information about trial and LTU (License To Use) licensing on supported platforms, see the HP
Matrix Operating Environment Getting Started Guide at

For added information on using the HP Capacity Advisor Consolidation software license, see

. Capacity Advisor and
Capacity Advisor Consolidation software licenses cannot be used on the same system at the same
time.
Installation
Capacity Advisor is installed with other Matrix OE components, so no separate installation is
required. (See the Matrix Operating Environment installation guide at
appropriate for your operating system.) To use Capacity Advisor, you must have
a valid license.
Collection methods
On installation of Matrix Operating Environment, the Insight managed system setup wizard
automatically configures the mechanism used to collect data from managed servers based on the
type of operating system that the managed system is running. (See
