Additional Technical Support
There are a range of extra support services available -
some of which are not part of the Toshiba warranty and
may incur an additional charge. These include:
documentation - A variety of manuals, guidebooks and
technical documentation are supplied with your notebook.
Check these thoroughly if you have any problems.
diagnostic tools - Toshiba may provide limited diagno-
stic software, either pre-installed or on a diskette or CD.
Instructions for use and additional troubleshooting
information may be available in the enclosed User Guide.
Various tools may be also pre-installed on the computer to
assist with hardware configuration. Please see the user’s
guide for more details.
computers.toshiba-europe.com - This is the official
website for Toshiba notebooks which allows you to view
a number of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) or to
download up-to-date software patches and drivers.
software support - This is not included in the Toshiba
warranty and is provided only by the software vendor.
They will be able to advise you on software suitable for
your notebook and about software support available
from the software manufacturers.
multi-vendor support - If you have bought various
hardware and software components from different ven-
dors, your Toshiba Authorised Reseller or Toshiba Au-
thorised Service Provider will be able to advise you on
the variety of comprehensive multi-vendor support pack-
ages available. They are not part of the Toshiba warranty.
Obtaining Warranty
Service
Step 1
- Self Diagnose
1. Check if your notebook is charged / connected to
mains and switched on correctly.
2. Reset the PC to its original configuration by remo-
ving options and external connections. Recently
installed software programs may have caused pro-
blems. Please remove these. Unplug any remote sto-
rage devices or other peripherals and remove any
floppy disks, CD-ROMs, power cords etc.
3. You can find important tips on how to operate your
product, troubleshooting and software updates on
the support sites provided by Toshiba. For details
refer to the information supplied with your product.
Step 2
- Contact Toshiba
1. Note down the information below before you contact
Toshiba:
• product name and model number
• serial number
• hardware and software configuration
• the nature of the problem
• all error messages and other messages that might
appear on the screen
• you may be required to send in a proof of purcha-
se such as a copy of the original sales receipt with
the reseller’s stamp, date of purchase, and serial-
number of the notebook.
Contact the Toshiba Support Centre by referring to the
information provided in the list at the end of this booklet.
