International Limited Warranty for Notebooks

‘Toshiba Authorised Reseller’ - An organisation that has

been authorised and trained to sell Toshiba notebooks and

may also be authorised to support Toshiba notebooks.

‘Toshiba Authorised Service Provider’ - An organisation

that has been authorised and trained to support Toshiba

notebooks.

‘Warranty period’ - The time from date of purchase to

when your computer is eligible to be repaired free of

charge.

‘Warranty repair’ - When your notebook is within the

warranty period and has a hardware malfunction not due

to wear and tear or abuse and which further meets the

terms and conditions of the standard warranty.

Hardware

Notebook

Your notebook is covered by a 1 year international carry-in

warranty for components and workmanship. If a malfunction

appears within this period and your notebook is still under

warranty, both the service parts and labour costs are covered.

Batteries

For batteries the warranty period is limited to 1 year due

to the nature of the item.

Options

Peripheral equipment such as connectivity items,

memory cards, or modems are excluded from the

Toshiba warranty, but may fall under separate regulations.

Authorised Reseller or the supplier of the product.

Non-Toshiba Products

Non-Toshiba peripherals such as printers, scanners etc.

and consumables such as disks, etc., are excluded from

the Toshiba warranty scheme, but may be covered under

separate arrangements - please ask your Toshiba

Authorised Reseller or Toshiba Authorised Service

Provider for details. This means that, if your notebook

develops a fault, you can rely on the Toshiba Authorised

Reseller from whom you purchased the equipment to pro-

vide any support needed (there may be a charge), and to

carry out repairs or organise a replacement if applicable.

Software

Toshiba’s sole obligations with respect to software

distributed by Toshiba under the Toshiba brand name are

set forth in the applicable end user license or program

license agreement between you and the software developer.

Operating system

Your notebook is delivered with a pre-installed operating

system. The operating system is solely covered under

limited warranty provisions set forth in the End User

License Agreement accompanying your notebook.

In the event that the originally installed software is not

the cause for a malfunction of the system, but for

instance the software installed by the user, service is not

covered under warranty. It may be possible to restore

the notebook to its original factory settings.

All Toshiba notebooks are supplied with a Recovery CD

set or Hard Disk Recovery functionality that enables you

to restore the software on the computer to its factory

“out-of-the-box“ condition in the event of software fai-

lure. As you may not claim further Recovery CD’s it is

important to keep the additional software and CDs sup-

plied with your computer in a safe place in case you ever

need to reinstall any of the software supplied. If you have

a problem with your operating system, you should refer

it back to where you purchased the computer.
