International Limited Warranty for Notebooks
If your notebook fails whilst covered under the warranty
period, you are responsible for delivering it to, and collec-
ting it from a Toshiba Authorised Reseller or Toshiba Au-
thorised Service Provider. When the notebook arrives at
the repair facility every effort will be made to have the
device ready for collection at the earliest opportunity.
Subject to spares availability, this should be within 5
working days. Should you require a repair in less than 5
days, please ask your Reseller if this service is provided.
Additional expenses may be charged for this service.
Terms and Conditions of
the International Limited
Warranty
Your Toshiba International Limited Warranty includes a
Carry-In warranty service. In some parts of some coun-
tries, a Pick-up and Return warranty service may be pro-
vided. The warranty service will be subject to the follo-
wing terms and conditions:
1. This warranty is valid ONLY for the notebook for
which your warranty has been registered. It is the
notebook that is warranted rather than the owner.
2. If the product is not in good working order as
warranted, the sole and exclusive remedy shall be
repair or replacement. The decision between repair
and replacement is reserved to Toshiba.
3. Before accepting any liability on account of this
warranty or issuing a warranty certificate, the
Authorised Service Providers reserve the right to
request the proof of purchase (such as a fully paid and
dated invoice of your Authorised Dealer or Reseller)
on which the model and serial number are mentioned.
4. On a product or part that is repaired or replaced on
the basis of the present warranty, the remaining period
of the original warranty period is still applicable. If this
remaining period is less than six months, a new period
of six months applies. All products or parts that were
replaced on the basis of the present warranty
become property of Toshiba.
5. Memory expansion cards, modems and other devices
are excluded from the Toshiba warranty but may fall
under separate regulations such as a separate war-
ranty. For details please refer to the documentation
provided with the option and/or contact your Toshiba
Authorised Reseller or Service Provider.
6. Toshiba will, at its option, repair or replace any defec-
tive Systems or parts thereof covered by this Inter-
national Limited Warranty with new or factory-refur-
bished parts or Systems that are equal to new pro-
ducts in performance.
7. Warranty repair services involving language based
aspects of your system (e.g. keyboard, software)
may not be capable of being performed in another
language than the primary language used in the
country where the service request is made.
8. Failures or malfunctions that were determined to be
due to external causes, accidents, incorrect use,
changes, viruses, modifications or neglect do not fall
under the warranty. All of the above mentioned will
be evaluated and determined by the Toshiba
Authorised Service Provider.
9. Should a user claim repair that is not covered under
the International Limited warranty terms and condi-
tions, the Toshiba Authorised Service Provider will
provide a quote for repair. The Toshiba Authorised
Service Provider may charge the quotation and
repair.costs to the user.
10. The warranty will be void if the failures in the product
or parts result from service, maintenance or repair
activities carried out by a party other than a Toshiba
Authorised Service Provider, or in case the labels or
serial numbers of the product or parts of it have been
modified or made illegible.
11. If your System is eligible for Pick-up and Return war-
ranty service, Toshiba will arrange pick-up of the
defective unit from your location, repair it and return
it back to your location. Toshiba will incur all repair,
logistics and insurance costs in this process.
