International Limited Warranty for Notebooks
Supplied programs
Some programs come pre-installed with the notebook.
For these products the standard warranty terms and
conditions for the notebook and the program license
agreement apply.
Application programs
Any software packages that were present at the time that
you purchased your Toshiba notebook or that were added
afterwards but are not part of the standard pre-installation
by Toshiba are not covered by the notebook warranty. If
you have problems with these application programs,
please contact the program supplier or manufacturer.
Warranty Parameters
Start of warranty
The warranty period starts on the date the new Toshiba
notebook was purchased.
International Limited Warranty Coverage
Toshiba notebooks are covered by International Limited
Warranty in a large number of countries. You can view
the most recent list of countries and contacts of service
points using the Toshiba Global ASP locator
www.toshiba-europe.com/asp-locator
Warranty entitlement
The Toshiba Support Centre may ask for a proof of
purchase (e.g. the invoice including the serial number)
before fulfilling the warranty obligation. If the unit is
registered please refer to
http://gedb.toshiba.com
for the respective information.
Authorised Service Provider
Only Toshiba Authorised Service Providers are entitled
to perform warranty repairs on your Toshiba notebook.
In order to ensure the best performance of your
notebook, we recommend using these providers also for
out-of-warranty repairs.
Please note that repairs carried out during the warranty
period by Non-Authorised Service Providers may in-
validate the warranty of the product.
Please refer to the annex to find your service contact.
Backup
- Essential for the
Protection of your Data!
There is a risk that the software and/or the data on your
notebook may accidentally be damaged or lost. This
could be caused by accidentally erasing files, power
failure, damaged application programs or operating
systems, as well as viruses. Therefore it is of great
importance to regularly back up your data and store it
in a safe place. Your data is important and data recovery
is not covered under warranty.
It is also equally important to keep any additional software
media supplied with your notebook in a safe place in
case you ever need to reinstall any of it.
What is meant by a Carry-In
warranty?
During the warranty period, you can take or send your
notebook to a Toshiba Authorised Reseller or Toshiba
Authorised Service Provider to be repaired. You are required
to pay for shipping the faulty notebook to and from the
Toshiba Authorised Reseller or Toshiba Authorised
Service Provider, but all spares and labour required to
repair the computer are free of charge. Replacement
parts are fully covered for the remainder of the warranty
period, or six months from the date of replacement, whi-
chever is the greater.
