CHANGING RS 232 BAUD RATE [STANDARD MODELS ONLY]
The factory default RS 232 baud rate is 38400. To change the baud rate from the front panel
proceed as follows:
1. If the status display shows SET, tap either the CURRENT or VOLTAGE controls to take the
unit out of setpoint mode (status display goes from SET to blank)
2. Using a thin tool (e.g., a paper clip), press the FUNCTION switch once, then rotate either the
CURRENT or VOLTAGE control until the display reads BAUD; the active baud rate 1000 x
the value visible in the DC AMPERES display (e.g., 38400 is displayed as 38.4). To change
the baud rate, proceed to step 3.
3. Tap the DC OUTPUT switch. The baud rate visible in the DC AMPERES display begins
blinking.
4. Rotate the CURRENT control to change the baud rate, then tap the DC OUTPUT switch to
accept the displayed baud rate. The display briefly reads DONE, then returns to BAUD.

SETTING UP MASTER/SLAVE CONFIGURATIONS [STANDARD MODELS ONLY]
Both units of a master/slave pair must be identical models. After connecting the RS 232 ports
(see PAR. 2.7.8), proceed as follows to configure the individual units. First configure the slave
(see PAR 3.2.14.1), then the master (see PAR 3.2.14.2). Ensure adequate source power is
available to support the requirements of both power supplies. Output wiring must be in accor-
dance with PAR. 2.7.6 for series output connection or PAR. 2.7.7 for parallel output connection
as applicable; parallel pairs must include load sharing connection per PAR. 2.7.7.1.
3.2.14.1 CONFIGURE POWER SUPPLY AS SLAVE [STANDARD MODELS ONLY]
1. Turn power on. If the unit comes up in setpoint mode (see PAR. 3.2.7), tap either the CUR-
RENT or VOLTAGE control to take the unit out of setpoint mode (status display goes from
SET to blank).
2. Using a thin tool (e.g., a paper clip), press the FUNCTION switch once, then rotate either the
CURRENT or VOLTAGE control until the display reads M/S.
3. Tap the DC OUTPUT switch.
• The status display reads either SERI (series) or PARA (parallel).
• The DC VOLTS display shows the number assigned to the unit (1 = master, 2 or above =
slave).
