Playing Back Pictures
Erasing Pictures
The LCD monitor provides different methods for deleting
images stored in your camera as you play them back:

You can delete the currently displayed picture
◗
You can select pictures for deletion or delete all the
pictures
◗
You can “lock” pictures to prevent their deletion
You can erase photos right after you take them, before they
are stored in your camera, using Quick Review. See
Chapter 2 for instructions.
You can also erase stored photos through your software when
you’re transferring them to your computer. For instructions,
see Chapter 4.
Erasing the Currently Displayed Picture
Make sure the monitor switch is set to
PLAYBACK
and the
image you want to erase is displayed. Then follow these steps:

Hold down the
FUNCTION
button and press the
BACK
button.
You see the following message on the LCD monitor:

Press the
SELECT
button to erase the picture. The
monitor returns to playback mode.
NOTE
If you try to erase a locked photo
, you see a warning message.
Press any button to clear the message. See page 3-8 for
instructions on locking and unlocking images in the camera.
Selecting Pictures to Erase
You select pictures to erase using the Photo Control
menu. You can either select individual pictures, or
choose to erase all the pictures in the camera. To
select pictures to lock (protect from erasing), or lock
all pictures, see page 3-8.
