Problem:
The Router does not display the correct route entry, i.e., the Router does not seem to be learning
route information from the CyberSWITCH system via RIP.
Action:
1.
Verify that the IP RIP Send Control is set to the proper RIP version that the Router can
understand. Refer to
for instructions regarding check RIP versions.
2.
Enter the
ip rip interface
administrative console command. Look for the Broadcast
Address
value. This is the IP address of the router that the RIP messages are sent to.
If the address is not the correct address for the Router, correct the transmit broadcast address
for the interface using CFGEDIT. Refer to
for instructions regarding checking the
address.
3.
Enter the
ip rip stats
administrative console command. Look for the IfStatSentResponses
counter for the interface, which shows the number of RIP update messages sent on the
interface.
If the counter is 0, enter the
ip rip send
administrative console command to force the RIP
update message to be sent immediately.
4.
Repeat step 3).
If the counter is still 0, there is an unexpected condition present within the CyberSWITCH
software. Contact Customer Support.
5.
Check the Router and ensure that it is set up to learn route information via RIP.
