Windows NT

This section discusses VS-Link software for the RocketPort Serial
Hub. VS-Link for Windows supports several products, including:

VS1000 and VS1100 High-Density Serial Hub

VS2000 Analog Modem Hub

RocketPort Serial Hub

Note: VS-Link is the device driver and supporting applications

provided with the product.

However, because of differences between the products, the VS1000 and
VS2000 are discussed separately in their own Installation and
Configuration Guides
.

VS-Link Installation and Configuration Overview

This section contains information about VS-Link installation,
configuration, and use of RocketPort Serial Hub in a Windows NT
operating system. The topics include:

Removing an existing version of VS-Link to upgrade VS-Link

Changing VS-Link configuration after initial installation to:

-

Configure and use the Backup server feature, which allows you
to define one server as the primary server for a given
RocketPort Serial Hub and one or more other servers as backup
servers for the same RocketPort Serial Hub.

Note: if you have more than one Windows NT server on a network.

Add RocketPort Serial Hub units after initial installation.

-

“Hot-swap” RocketPort Serial Hub units in and out of service.
Hot-swapping” allows you to replace an existing and
configured RocketPort Serial Hub with an identical unit,
without downing the server or reconfiguring ports.

Lock baud rates to access to higher or lower rates than are
normally permitted by your Window NT applications.

Set VS-Link for use with an RS-232 to RS-485 convertor box

Set the scan rate
