3.8.
A second 1 1/8” wrench may be applied to the
top of the nearest blade spindle if more rotation
is needed. See Figure 3.8.
3.9.
Lower the deck slightly to provide belt clearance
between the stack pulley and the wing lift motor,
and remove the belt from the mower.
3.10. If the old belt exhibits any damage beyond nor-
mal wear, identify and correct the cause of the
damage before returning the mower to service.
3.11. Inspect the condition of the deck belt, and
replace it if it is suspect.
3.12. Position the new belt on the PTO clutch and
stack pulley.
3.13. Pull the tensioner pulley arm out to the left, and
slip the belt over the pulley.
3.14. Test the operation of the mower deck before
returning the mower to service.
4.
DECK BELT
4.1.
Remove the PTO belt as described in the PTO
Belt section of this manual, including all precau-
tions.
4.2.
Remove both deck belt covers using a 9/16”
wrench.
4.3.
Working from the right of the mower, use a 1/2”
breaker bar to move the deck belt tensioner pul-
ley arm, relieving tension from the deck belt.

NOTE: belt routing and spring location
4.4.
Roll the belt off of the tensioner or spindle pulley.
See Figure 4.4.
4.5.
If the old belt exhibits any damage beyond nor-
mal wear, identify and correct the cause of the
damage before returning the mower to service.
