ip vrrp vr-id ip ip-address [secondary]
no ip vrrp vr-id ip ip-address secondary

vr-id—The virtual router identifier. (Range: 1-255)
•
ip-address—The IP address of the virtual router.
•
secondary—Designates the virtual router IP address as a secondary IP address on an
interface.
Default Configuration
This command has no default configuration.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode
User Guidelines
The primary IP address can be modified, but not deleted. The no form of the command is
only valid for the secondary IP address.
Example
The following example in Interface Configuration mode sets the virtual router IP address for
VLAN 15.
console(config)#interface vlan 15
console(config-if-vlan15)#ip vrrp 5 ip 192.168.5.25
ip vrrp mode
Use the ip vrrp mode command in Interface Configuration mode to enable the virtual router
configured on an interface. Enabling the status field starts a virtual router. Use the no form of the
command to disable the virtual router.
Syntax
ip vrrp vr-id mode
no ip vrrp vr-id mode

vr-id—The virtual router identifier. (Range: 1-255)
Default Configuration
Disabled is the default configuration.
