7.3.10 Creating a control configuration (adding field devices)

How to create a control configuration in »PLC Designer«
1. Open the context menu of the target system and execute the command Append
device in order to extend the control configuration with "EtherCAT Master".

Note!
Before creating an EtherCAT configuration in »PLC Designer«, ensure that the following
conditions have been met:
• The sequence of EtherCAT slaves in the device tree must correspond to the physical
arrangement of the EtherCAT topology.
• SoftMotion operation is only possible with EtherCAT slaves that use the CiA402
application (SM_Drives, e.g. Servo Drives 9400 Highline CiA402).
• Select the cycle times according to the technical data from 1 ... 10 ms.
