Appendix 3 Trouble-shooting
General Problems

Correction
Communication between wireless LAN stations is
not possible.
·
Check whether the wireless LAN card is correctly
inserted.
·
Check whether the driver is normally operating on
the server (access point).
·
Check whether the station is operating in
infrastructure mode.
·
Check whether both station and access point have
the same network name (ESSID).
·
When WEP is enabled, check whether both station
and access point have the same WEP key.
·
Check whether the station is within the area of
communication with the access point.
·
If filtering with the MAC address has been enabled,
check that the address has been set correctly.
·
If the 802.1X function is enabled, settings may have
failed. Refer to the latest description about problems
related to the 802.1X function.
Communication between wireless LAN stations is
possible but communication with the PC on a wired
LAN is not possible.

Check whether the access point is set up to
connect to the wired LAN network.
·
Check whether the wired LAN driver is normally
operating on the server (access point).
·
Check whether the wired LAN cable is correctly
inserted in the server (access point).
·
When filtering by the MAC address is enabled,
check whether the address is correctly set up.
·
If the 802.1X function is enabled, settings may have
failed. Refer to the latest description about problems
related to the 802.1X function.
