Registering an IP relay station

Note
A maximum of 8 IP relay stations can be registered.
The address can be specified as a host name if "DNS Settings" in the Common Setting - TCP/IP page
is set to "ON" and a DNS server is registered.

Detail
In order to specify SMTP authentication settings when registering relay stations, the software switch
settings must be specified. For details, refer to
"Specifying security settings for e-mail
transmissions (mode 380)" on page 2-14 .
If SMTP authentication settings for SMTP reception have been specified on the IP relay station, SMTP
authentication settings must be specified on the machine sending the fax when the relay station is
registered.
Item Description
IP Relay Address Select the method (IP address/host name) for specifying the address, and then type in the ad-
dress of the IP relay station.
IP address format: ***.***.***.***; Range for ***: 0 to 255
Host name range: Up to 64 characters
Characters that can be entered: Alphanumeric characters and symbols (! # $ % & ' * + - . / = ?
_ ` { | } ~ @)
Port Number Type in the port number. (Range: 1 to 65535)
Domain Name Type in the domain name.
Specify the domain name when limiting reception by domain names during IP relay operations.
Range: Up to 64 characters
Characters that can be entered: Alphanumeric characters and symbols (- . @)
SMTP Authentica-
tion User Name Type in the SMTP authentication user name for the IP relay station.
Range: Up to 64 characters
