Setting protocol filters through the Ethernet Protocol Filter, TCP/UDP Port Filter, and the Advanced Filtering interface can impact
the performance of your network by limiting the amount of unnecessary traffic received from unsupported protocols. In
addition, various filters can be set up through the Static MAC Address Table to control the interaction between network devices
and to control the types of protocol packets distributed by your network.
This section describes the Ethernet Protocol, Advanced, and TCP/UDP Port filtering options. See
for
information on the Static MAC address filter.
