Press the Back soft key when satisfied with the settings or if you choose not to make any
changes. The MFT will then return to the Calibrate key main menu screen.
Manual Calibrations and Documentation
Selecting Procedure: Manual and Device Out: Conv and pressing Begin Calibration causes the following
screens to appear:
Enter the necessary or desired information or select options from supplied menus as needed to set up a manual
calibration right on the MFT. Be sure to target the Meas/Sim menu line to the Sensor bay location (S1, S2, or
S3) where the reference module for the calibration is located. Meas/Sim refers to the action needed to provide
measurement or simulation for the device under test’s input. Example 1: Pressure transmitter calibration
requires external pressure to be applied to the Sensor Module and the device under test simultaneously, so
select the Sx location for the Pressure module needed to measure the applied pressure. Example 2: RTD
transmitter calibration requires simulation of RTD signal to the device under test so select the Sx location for the
RIO4000 measure and simulation module.
Review the second page of Manual Calibration Input information by selecting the
first page. This sets up the MFT to Measure the output of the device under test with the appropriate sensor.
Correct any information necessary.
Once satisfied, move the arrow to Begin Calibration and press the Select soft key. If problems exist in the
setup, the MFT will normally provide guidance to correct them. For example, if the user forgot to input the URV,
the message “URV must be > LRV” will appear and the cursor will be pointed to the URV menu line. If the user
pointed the Meas/Sim menu to an RIO4000 module for a Cal Type “P”, the message “Module / Type Mismatch!”
