2. Orient the dust removal tool as shown below, with the label on the
tool (and the fiber strip) facing the front of the scanner; in this position
the dust removal tool is behind the diffuser.

3. Clean the surface of the diffuser with an up and down motion; make
sure the fiber strip makes contact with the diffuser.
4. Remove the dust removal tool, replace the holder and mask, and
rescan the image.
