9.1 4/4 Gbit Fibre Channel Switch Blade
(Brocade SilkWorm 4016 4D)
For the connection between the server blades and the SAN, you can install the
4/4 Gbit Fibre Channel Switch Blade (Brocade SilkWorm 4016 4D) in the
PRIMERGY BX600 S3 basic unit. It offers a maximum of ten internal fabric
ports to the server blades and a maximum of six external fabric ports for a fast
and reliable connection to a SAN. The 4/4 Gbit Fibre Channel Switch Blade
offers transfer rates of 4 Gbit/s via the internal and external ports. A
10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 connector is available for administering the 4/4 Gbit Fibre
Channel Switch Blade via a LAN.
The operating system of the 4/4 Gbit Fibre Channel Switch Blade offers the full
functionality of
Brocade Fabric OS 5.0.4 , the joint software platform for Brocade
Fibre Channel switches. The FC switch blade is administered via the Fabric
Watch and Advanced Web Tools from Brocade.

The 4/4 Gbit Fibre Channel Switch Blade only supports server blades
that are fitted with a 4-Gbit Fibre Channel I/O module (PCIe daughter
card).

In addition to the 16-port variant, a model with 12 dynamically assignable
ports is available (e.g. 4 external and 8 internal ports). You can upgrade
this model to a 16-port variant later.
