10.2.5 Connecting the SMB Connection Kit to DC Fuses
To connect the Sunny Main Box to the Sunny Central, you need the SMB Connection Kit. You can only connect the
SMB Connection Kit to a Sunny Central with DC fuses. The SMB Connection Kit busbar links three of the Sunny Central
DC terminals and allows up to four DC cables to be connected.
Procedure:
1. Position and screw the busbar firmly over three DC terminals
(torque: 60 Nm).
2. Pull the fuses out of the three DC connection brackets. Use the LV/HRC fuse handle.
10.2.6 Connecting the DC Cables
Additionally required mounting material (not included in the scope of delivery):
☐ Clean cloth
☐ Ethanol cleaning agent
Requirement:
☐ No more than two DC cables must be connected to each fuse input.
Procedure:
1. Insert the DC cables in the interface cabinet.
2. Strip the DC cable insulation.
3. Fit terminal lugs to the DC cables.
4. Wipe the contact surfaces on the terminal lugs and connection brackets with a clean cloth and ethanol cleaning
agent.
5. For non-tin-plated busbars, also polish the contact surfaces with non-woven abrasive as follows:
• Clean the contact surfaces with the non-woven abrasive until they have a light metallic sheen. Ensure that the
coated contact surfaces are not damaged.
• Remove metal dust with a clean cloth and ethanol cleaning agent.
6. Do not touch the contact surfaces again after cleaning.
7. Connect the DC cables in accordance with the circuit diagram (torque: 37 Nm). Only use the screws, nuts and
washers included in the scope of delivery and make sure that the screw heads always point forwards.
8. Secure the DC cables on the cable support rail. This will prevent the cables from being pulled out inadvertently.
