5. Recording Batch Information
Batch data is the actual information printed on the supply. This
data essentially fills in the "slots" in the format with the
information to be printed for text, bar code, and non-printable
text fields.
This chapter tells you how to download batch data streams to
the printer.
Preparing Batches for Downloading
A batch data stream that you download from a host consists of
two parts:
Batch Header
Identifies the format to use for the
batch and how many supplies to
print.
Batch Data
The actual information to print on the
supply.
Make a copy of the Batch Worksheet at the end of the chapter.
Use the copy to record batch information.
Appendix C, "Format Design Tools," contains an extra Batch
Worksheet.

Fill in the Batch Header section:
a. All formats have a number (see box F2 on the Format
Worksheet.) Select the number of the format to use for
this batch. Enter the format number in box B2 in the
Batch Header section.
b. You can select how you want to fill in printed fields.
Choose N or U from the list below, and write it in box B3
in the Batch Header section.
