Defining Non-Printable Text Fields
You can enter data in non-printable text fields, but it does not
print. Typically, non-printable text fields "hold" data that will
combine with other fields to form a merged field.
NOTE: Define non-printable text fields before you define the
field that prints the information in these fields.
In the following example, there are four non-printable fields.
The printer merges data from these fields to form field #5,
which prints as a bar code. Chapter 3, "Applying Field
Options," tells how to merge fields.

Each non-printable text field requires a separate definition.
1.
Define your format as shown in this chapter, if you have
not done so already.
2.
Find "Non-Printable Text Fields" on the Format Worksheet.
Write a number between 1 and 30 to identify this field in
box D2. Number fields in sequence from 1 to 30. Do not
use any field number more than once in a format.
