Certain options cannot be used together. For example,
incrementing and price field options cannot be applied to the
same field.

The "Copy" option (#4) is the only option that can be repeated
for a single field.

Defining Fixed Data (Option 1)

You may want some information in your format to print on all
labels or tags. A company name or a store number is an
example of fixed data.

You can define fixed characters for an entire field, or for just
part of a field.

Defining Fixed Characters for an Entire Field

There are two ways to define an entire fixed field. The best
way to do this is to define a constant text overlay as shown in
Chapter 2, "Designing a Format." Constant text overlays do not
count as fields, allowing more fixed data in a format.

However, if you want to define a fixed field that can be copied
into another field, use Option 1 as shown below.

1.

Define your text or bar code field on the Format Worksheet
as shown in Chapter 2, "Designing a Format." Write F in
box T4 or B4 to specify a fixed field length. Then, make
sure the number in box T3 or B3 is the same as the
number of characters you will place in the field.

2.

Find Option 1 on the Format Worksheet. This option
specifies fixed characters.
