Enclose character strings in quotation marks: "string"

NOTE: Do not place a new line (return) or any other

non-printing character in a character string.

If you wish to insert any comments into the file, enclose
comments in grave accents: ‘comment‘. All information
enclosed in grave accents is ignored.

The printer ignores spaces, except within character
strings.

Use only uppercase characters, except in character
strings enclosed in quotation marks.

Do not embed comments within a quoted string.

Use a tilde (~) followed by a 3-digit ASCII code in a
quoted string to send function codes or extended
characters.
