On the Profile Setup screen (Figure 4-16), type 7 and press Enter. The PM Profile Setup screen
(Figure 4-17) opens.
The PM Profiles Set Up screen is used to setup the PM and CPM components. All fields except
9 and 10 are used by PM. CPM requires fields 9, 10, 11 and 12.
For more information about CPM, see the section “Continuous Performance Monitoring” on
page 84.

The following properties appear on the PM Profile Setup screen:
1. PM State indicates that the Profile is Enabled or Disabled. When the Profile is in the
Disabled state, no tests will be performed for this profile.
2. Duration (Min:Sec) (00:01 - 10:00) indicates the duration for this profile in minutes and
seconds. Each address associated with this profile will be tested for this duration by the
scheduler.
3. Packets per Second (1-100) defines the packet rate in packets per seconds (pps). Each
address associated with this profile will be tested at this rate by the scheduler.
4. Packet Timeout (1-10) defines the number of seconds the system waits to receive an
acknowledgement from a NID regarding the previously sent packet before declaring the
packet dropped. It also defines the maxima of both Latency and Jitter buckets. For
example, if you enter 9 seconds as the Packet Timeout, 9,000 will appear in the
Measurement Setup screen under the Latency Buckets field and −9,000 and 9,000 will
appear under the Jitter Buckets (msec) field. (Path: Main Menu > Diagnostics > Network
