Specifying by direct input
A destination can be specified by direct input even if the destination is not
registered with the address book.

Note
If “Manual Destination Input” in Utility mode is set to “Restrict” or if “Man-
ual Destination Input” in the Default Function Permission or Function Per-
mission screen in User Authentication Settings is set to “Restrict”, the
[Direct Input] tab will not appear. For details on the “Manual Destination
Input” parameter, refer to “Prohibiting the direct input of fax number
(Manual Destination Input)” on page 10-107. For details on the parame-
ters available in the User Authentication Settings screen, refer to the Us-
er’s Guide [Copy Operations].

Enter the fax number of the recipient.

Enter the fax number of the recipient using the keypad.

Entered numbers are all cleared by pressing [C] (clear) key.

To recall a registered address book destination, touch [Enter Reg-
istered No.], type in the registration number for an address book
destination, and then touch [Apply].

When a PBX (Private branch exchange) connection is set to active
and a fax is sent from an internal line to an external line, touch
[Pause] after dialing “0” or the external line number, to ensure the
number is dial correctly. “P” appears in the screen.

If “Confirm Address (TX)” in Utility mode is set to “ON”, the address
input screen appears again after [OK] in the address input screen is
touched. Enter the fax number of the recipient, and then press the
[Start] key or touch [Send] to begin the transmission.
