Section 8: Applications
This section contains a description of each application that is
available in the Apps Menu, its function, and how to navigate
through that particular application. If the application is
already described in another section of this user manual,
then a cross reference to that particular section is provided.
Note: This manual only addresses applications that have been
loaded on your device as of the date of purchase.
Information concerning third party applications that you
may choose to download from the Google Play Store or
otherwise should be obtained from the application
provider directly and not from Samsung.
Tip: To open applications quickly, add the icons of frequently-
used applications to one of the Home screens. For details,
see “Customizing Your Home Screen” on page 29.
Ⅲ To access the Applications, tap Apps from any
Home screen.
Activity Zone
Enjoying the outdoors and only have one hand free? Press
the convenience key on the side of the Galaxy S 5 Active to
launch all your outdoor activity-related features, all on one
application screen. With a compass to a stopwatch and
more, Activity Zone makes being outside easier.
1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Activity Zone .
The Activity Zone screen is displayed.
2. The following features are available:
• Barometer: displays your elevation and atmospheric pressure
• Compass: displays the compass heading that your device is
pointing to and also your latitude and longitude.
• Flashlight: allows you to use your device as a flash light. You
can also set it to blink and adjust the brightness.
• Stopwatch: allows you to use your device as a stopwatch. You
can also set multiple lap times.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to use each feature.
4. Press for additional options.
