HP XP and HP XP P9000 storage systems: Change the Remote Web Console user name, and
password.
•
HP 3PAR StoreServ, HP StoreOnce Backup: Change the user name, and password.
NOTE:
•
The HP EVA Command View server password is required to modify HP EVA Command View
servers.
•
The storage node password is required to modify HP StoreVirtual information.
•
The controller user name and password are required to modify HP MSA array information.
To modify a configured storage system or management server:
1.
Log in to the Storage Administrator Portal.
For instructions, see
“About the Storage Administrator Portal” (page 12)
2.
Select a storage system or management server in the Configured Storage Systems and
Management Servers list, and then click Modify.
NOTE:
When modifying HP EVA Command View management servers, HP 3PAR StoreServ
storage systems, HP StoreVirtual storage systems, or HP MSA storage systems it is necessary
to enter your user name and password, and then click Next.
When working with HP EVAs, this step is required for HP EVA Command View management
servers only. The host name, user name, and password are not required when modifying HP
EVAs.
3.
Complete the screens displayed for the storage system or management server being modified.
The information required varies for each storage system or management server.
Help is available for each screen if you need assistance.
When the process for adding the component is complete, the Configured Storage Systems
and Management Servers page is displayed.
4.
Click Refresh Cache (in the Storage Administrator Portal) to manually refresh the information
displayed on the Configured Storage Systems and Management Servers page. You can also
use the cache refresh icon
to update the cache.
Cache-refresh progress information is displayed. Click Check Cache-Refresh Progress in the
Storage Administrator Portal to view updated information.
Removing a storage system or management server
When you remove a storage system or management server from the list of storage systems managed
by the Storage Module for vCenter, the Storage Module for vCenter stops collecting and displaying
data for that storage system or management server. Disks from the removed storage system are
displayed as unmanaged disks in the vSphere Client.
Consider the following:
•
Removing an HP EVA does not remove the associated management servers.
•
Removing an HP EVA Command View management server does not remove the associated
arrays.
•
Removing an HP StoreVirtual management group removes all of the storage nodes in the
group.
To remove a storage system or management server:
1.
Log in to the Storage Administrator Portal.
