Troubleshooting with RAID Manager
To identify the cause of errors while using RAID Manager, you can use the following logs:
•
The log is shown in the RAID Manager window.
For more information, see “Identifying errors using the log on the RAID Manager window”
(page 62) .

The RAID Manager operation log file.

(page 63)
The following table lists the error codes for SSB1: B901, B9A8, B9A9, B9AD, B9AE, and 2E31.
For more information about the error codes that are not described in this table, contact HP Technical
Support.
Cause of error RAID Manager command SSB2
You cannot run the command because the storage system did not perform user
authentication. All commands 9100
You cannot create the pair because of a shortage of pair tables. paircreate 9685
You cannot create the pair because of a shortage of differential tables. paircreate 9686
You cannot create the pair because the pool is not available. paircreate 9700
You cannot create the pair because a pair using a pool ID that is different from
the specified pool ID exists in the specified P-VOL. paircreate 9702
You cannot create the pair because another FS or SS S-VOL is using the volume
you specified as the P-VOL. paircreate 9703
You cannot create the pair because another FS or SS P-VOL is using the volume
you specified as the S-VOL paircreate 9704
You cannot create the pair because another FS or SS S-VOL is using the volume
you specified as the S-VOL. paircreate 9705
You cannot create the pair because another SS pair is using the specified SS
ID. paircreate 9706
You cannot create the pair because the capacity of the pair that you are trying
to create exceeds the licensed capacity. paircreate 9707
The command ends abnormally. You tried to use a command other than the
paircreate
command for the volume in the pair other than the SS pair.

This error can also occur when you run the command with an unsupported
parameter.
The command ends abnormally because the pair is in a status that the command
does not accept, or because you ran the command with an unsupported

You cannot create the pair because you do not have a sufficient amount of
shared memory. paircreate 971a
The pair cannot be restored because the volume you specified as the P-VOL has
an S-VOL Disable attribute. pairresync -restore 971f
An error occurred for one of the following reasons: All commands 9720

You specified an LDEV number for the P-VOL or S-VOL that is not correct.
• You specified a P-VOL or S-VOL that is not paired.
•
The P-VOL or S-VOL is specifying a pair that is not ready for the specified
operation.
• You specified an MU number (SS ID) that is not correct.
