Use this procedure to set a user’s password.
1. Click Settings, and then click Users to display the Users page (
)
listing all current Management Appliance users. Those with a User or
Operator privilege level see only their own user account.
2. Choose the user that you want to modify and then click Set a Password to
display the Set Password page.

The system displays the warning text shown in
if you are not using
a secure connection—see “
,” on page page 22 for detailed
information. You can make the manual entries described in the warning or
click the Secure Site link to establish a secure connection.
3. Enter the new password twice, and then click OK to activate the change. You
have the option of leaving the password fields empty. In this case the user
presses only Enter when prompted for a password.
Managing Remote Access
The Remote Access feature allows you to create and maintain an access profile for
each of several network management applications. You must be assigned the
Administrator or Operator privilege level to use this feature.
The access profile contains logon information required by one management
application to initiate communication with a target application. The access profile
includes the host name and location plus a valid user name and password. You
create one access profile for each target application.
